A Picture of Progress
Work on the construction of the new woven carpet green has commenced at the club.
TigerTurf have well on the way to finishing the construction components of the new ditches. The base concrete has been laid which includes the drainage elements.
Next week (30/8/2010) they will be laying the capping bricks on the top of the ditch and then installing the timber plinth in the front part of theditch which will become the attachment point for the carpet when it is laid.
DA Lighting have finished most of their preparation work for thlights including the laying of cables in the ditches, digging of the holes for the lights poles and the internal wiring back to the switchboard. The switching of the lighs will be accessible from outside of the clubhouse provided that you have ensured that the main switches are set correctly. We will be providing guidelines on the use of the lights when the project is complete.
Work has slowed a little this week due to the inclement weather but we are hopeful of a major change next week with the excavation of the main part of the green and the laying of the drainage. Also it is anticipated that the lighs poles will be installed at this time as well. The carpet us due in Australia around the second to third week of September and we are hopeful of completion of the project in time for the first week of men's pennant, but if not alternate arrangements will be made to accomodate a couple of teams.
The Shade and Shelters sub-committee is well on its way to completing the design phase for their part of the project with competion of the shading to be undertaken after the green construction is totally completed.
